Heresy_Enjoyer: In the early game, you're better off casting exclusively with the meteorite staff due to its higher sorcery scaling while having any spell-boosting staffs (HM slaves more like) in the off-hand to still get the bonus. This also applies to whatever staff has the better magic scaling later on.

Also, you can dodge out of the 'hurr durr scratch head' animation...
