Daniel-oy6xq: Quick correction: The tail cutting isn't a MonHun reference. Back in Dark Souls 1, you could cut the tail from Dragon enemies to get special weapons from them. The Gaping Dragon was one such tail you could cut off.

Also Ancient Dragon sucks. It constantly sticks is ass outside the zone so you can’t hit the feet. It’s such a damage sponge and rarely gets stance broken, and you can never see it’s moves when you’re attacking the feet.
