gond9166: He’s not a savior. Many can’t even log on because the server is congested. Server crashes and server-kicks are rampant. The server seems to crash or stop letting anyone else log in after it reaches around 1,200 players. After which it puts everyone trying to log in on a queue that doesn’t move and eventually freezes up.

And do we get compensation for not being able to log in? NOPE!!!!

SinfulJon: I have heard about this, unfortunately, a remaster is extremely unlikely. The dev team is tiny, before a bunch of them left/got fired, they had around 50 people in the updated credits list, and like half of them were not game developers. I don't think they updated the credits since then, but it is probably roughly the same amount of people working on the game.

Anyhow, acording to Google, a remaster to DCUO would cost over 20-30 million dollars and take 1 to 2 years of work, that is with a full team working on it, meaning probably a lot more than the 20 or so devs they have now.

And it only gets worse, even if they did manage to rebuild the entire game on better engine, making that new engine and allowing all players current character progress to transfer over would be extremely difficult, and it may even be impossible for all your current progress to transfer over to this new build. So because of how difficult it would be, it would be much easier to just make everyone restart from scratch, so nothing transfers over to the remastered version. That alone would be a massive deal breaker to most veteran players, and probably many casual players as well.

And even if they did manage to fund a remaster, that would mean 1 to 2 years of extremely bare bones content, so probably just seasonals throughout that time, meaning it would potentially kill off the remaining player base due to no new content coming in at all.

However, it's all bad news. Given how popular these two are, they can get the attention of WB/DC. So if they get together with the head of DBG/DCUO and meet up with WB/DC, they can definitely push for some big changes in the game if they are willing to sign contracts to actively play/promote the game on their streams/channels. So while a remake is still unlikely, these two have the power to make possibly the biggest changes to the game in a very long time, hopefully good ones. :)
