AmaterasuAshes: Making a lot of suggestions I don’t think they sell in the asset store
Repoze: fire intro. 100% agree that the balancing issues are way overstated, people are just bored as fuck because they haven't added much new to the game in like 6 months
DaSmoreSan: What I don’t understand is he constantly complains about how hard it is to balance, but he has a HUGE group of dedicated people who play his game constantly and have a TON of great ideas to balance. Listen to your consumers bro.
buzzaduzza6657: those are most barb-centric balancing ideas I've seen in my life
yyellowkidd: door take is BASED
trozers: Nice video Retro, lots of good ideas in here
snarfy7514: Great intro! keep up the good work!!
spiffffffffff: SDF is much more into his vision than your fun.
jk5385: The extraction route makes the most sense to me. I have three other suggestions: 1. Add new door types (trapped, barricaded, magical [opening it take a long time, modified by magical interaction speed and knowledge], open pathway etc). 2. Add gear modifiers that are unique to the map the item is found in, with exclusive perks found only in HR. 3. Make the beginning of each wipe self-found, but with a unique community quest (each quest could be different each season to make them feel more special) that opens up the marketplace once the community completes it.
professionallid: and if SDF can't understand the dragon scroll then his game will get the skadoosh
barracktapus: MAKE THE GAME FUN that was the #1 thing all these Repoze videos have been missing, W IDing the problems
Drathrin: SDF is doing everything out of spite. The entire dev team has turned heel. Ironmace is turning out to be a horrible company
snowywhistle2114: "the reward for holding a shield in your hand is that you blocked an attack and you didn't take damage" while this is true, keep in mind that blocking is an action, by choosing to block I chose not to attack, which means that while I didn't take damage I also didn't do damage making the damage net neutral. Yes blocking can give the defender an action speed advantage (although that's not always the case depending on the impact power of the attack), but I'd argue that the action speed advantage is earned, as blocking is not only a gamble for the defender but also a skill issue for the attacker.
While I'm not against the idea of removing stat sticks, I have to point out that (excluding the Wanderlight lantern) lanterns would become entirely useless. Is removing lanterns a problem? Idk, probably not, after all the lantern shield exists for people who MUST have that light source. Light in the game is a joke right now, not only can you see perfectly fine without a light source, but the average player max's the brightness and gamma settings making dark areas look bright anyways.
As for healing, I'm not against the idea of nerfing it but I'd rather a different approach then just halving it. Perhaps something like the recoverable health system, where healing can only heal so much past your recoverable health pool. With that kind of idea, healing becomes less valuable over the course of a fight, being full value the first few times but quickly become half value or less as the fight goes on. Sort of like a healing decay. Perhaps healing could be reduced if you're being healed by multiple class sources, similar to how Albion Online's healing works. Basically, being healed by multiple unique sources would decrease all incoming healing by a percentage depending on the number of sources, staring at 35% with 2, ranging to 82% with 20 (this being because Albion can have massive parties).
I wouldn't mind paying for some kind of goblin insurance fee, where goblin recovery only happens if you pay an entrance ante (similar to how high roller works), but yeah something like that has got to happen, losing everything and not even being able to buy it back from another player sucks. I'd sooner pay 2x the price to buy back my old kit then pay half the price to buy a new one. I'm not paying for the gear, I'm paying for the convenience.
SUPERGREGGJR: SDF says he wants to test shit, but he test the most boring lukewarm shit ever. Never trying a new skill, new perk, new spell.
He said "man cleric struggles with catching people" So let's just throw movespeed on fucking everything. Man is on another level of idiotic it's intoxicating
maxentiusdecimus9341: My bro tried asking me if I would play again.
I asked if Ruins is still before crypts and he said yes.
So I said no thanks!

hansenbee123: Almost ALL off the changes that have happened the last 3-6 months is because they lost the lawsuit and need to save money like CRAZY.
esauyagaming714: Here's perspective from someone who played during closed betas, and then roughly 2 months after full launch, and came back for like... 2 matches here and there because these issues continued to make my experience unbearable:
1) Melee sucks.
- When I pick Fighter and 50% of my kit can be built around using a shield, but the hitboxes are atrocious and there are countless videos showing how bad the sync is sometimes (Keep in mind how melee feels going into my #2 and #3)
2) Kite and Kiter
- The amount of verticality in the game and where things are positioned makes this game feel like Prince of Persia, the original game, in that it is a platformer with combat elements. You have to memorize patterns on the map to execute parkour in order to jump a skill gap and be able to fight anyone.
3) Modifiers out the Butt
- "Choice" is an illusion in gear stats. It is just a mirage of numbers that inevitably the player base figures out coefficients, tries everything out, and then 1 class goes "nuclear" thus causing everyone to stat a specific way or just play that class that way.
-> This leads to the idea of choice being:
1) Play the way that the meta got defined because someone wanted to live out their Isekai life or
2) Get deleted like an npc in Overlord.....
So where's the choice? Do this or lose, but it's your choice if you want to lose.
-> I understand wanting to give Barbarians an option to get more move speed so they can contend with faster classes, but now you just have everyone stacking move speed and the second you aren't at Cap, you're at disadvantage.. and then once everyone caps... we are right back where we started, so where is the actual class expression? Now you're just left with who operates best at max stats... again.... a Nuclear build goes live and everyone has to play around it. Let classes just be their classes, stop the over-modification. This is why I believe Trio's is the answer, but in the current state of the game with how stats work, it has completely busted the system. Class synergy should outweigh stating.
I have vastly enjoyed games like Mistfall Hunter because they do these things stated above well.
- Systems aren't overly complex, each class feels completely different to play (not just skills and roles, but because the buttons and how you push keys on each FEEL different and really add to the depiction of the combat flow)
- The stagger system w/ Stamina management make it to where when you finally close a gap you can keep someone locked down/they can counter-play your resources to get out
- The skill expression imo is much higher. There are multiple videos of people in blue gear able to kill players in purple. Stats should give you an edge, not push you past certain power thresholds.... The BASE game should be so strong in its balance and combat flow that skill expression should always warrant victory. If 2 equally skilled players face each other and 1 has better gear the difference between win/lose should be 10 - 15% hp, not walking forward like they're infantry and you're a tank.
This game is cannibalizing because they can't retain new players, and if these issues were addressed I know I would come back. But until it shifts from Kite and Kiter, a janky melee system, and every patch wondering if Barbarians are going to go nuclear... the game is too volatile to play for me, and in my opinion, it attracts volatile players who all just want to try to become overpowered then s@#! on each other which creates a wall for anyone else trying to come in unless they push themselves through the same abuse and go from abused to abuser.
The current climb is /NOT/ fun. It isn't intuitive, the player base gate-keeps so they can stay on the top (then they hot mic you and tell you you're bad), and the resources provided are all extrinsic and require vast amounts of time/resources to get caught up then stay caught up for... a video game.
I commend SDF, rip the cancer out. The only people who are going to get angry are the people who enjoy gate-keeping their game because they feel superior for their time/effort/knowledge rather than asking, "How do we meet it in the middle to make it more accessible and keep growing it so we have a healthy median of players." .... and listen, I get not saturating the game. I gave up on WoW a long time ago because they wanted to expand so big and make the game so easy that you can click 1 button and play it. There's a middle ground here.
bruuldor: It's a valiant attempt at fixing the game, but you're forgetting one thing. You're not talking to logical actors. This is the dude that stole a videogame, imposed his mental illness upon the player base by abusing them with the most radical and illogical changes imaginable for over two years straight, and never learned from his mistakes even once.
Let's call it what it is, it's an experiment in money extraction. SDF doesn't want the game to be good. He wants money. And he doesn't care about you, or anyone that gives it to him. He wants to test how many times he can screw you over before you finally give up.
Mosca_Tube: dad community: You were the chosen one! It was said that you would destroy the exploitative and greedy practices, not join them! Bring balance to the game, not leave it in darkness! sdf: I HATE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oscar6086: as others have said, the balance issues are way overstated and only a concern for a very small minority of sweats.
sushorts5845: pure cinema intro. W mans, W video
hexrtlxn840: I pray that I see the day where sdf plays the grinch in a retro Rey video. But it’ll be when his heart grows 3 times the size and he returns the game we once loved to the DaD community. And little Timmy Lou Who will have all of the content he could ever dream of.
NotAHackerr: you remembered to make suggestions so the devs can ignore them, respect
ericwilliams6515: I’ve been saying it for so long, and I love how much you say it in this video. The game really isn’t that fun to play at all, I’m not even really that bad at it either, it’s so slow and I hate how everyone drinks a shield potion every time they want to fight, it’s just so extra and repetitive.
