TigranTonoian: Love this, Unlike SDF who always talk about vague features or how the game should feel like. You are actually suggesting real features. i absolute love the idea of different material giving you different attributes and making it so so material is better than another, also the fact that you can visually see what material an item is made from just add so much counter play because you can actually predict and see what your enemy's advantages and weakness are.

ehvyrusspeaking3815: yeah this guys a masterchef apperantly, the side grading instead of a direct "one is better then the other" would also make the market more well rounded as a side effect of his system. as well as leaning into interesting builds for classes which i think everyone enjoys

mrbubs3328: the idea of changing your weapon and armor for the current state of the game were instead of random modifiers there are hundreds of ways to customize and theory craft builds to make fun and interesting combat encounters. one problem I could see is that the wounding system would cause scenarios were you win a fight but are left on low hp and the wound kills you after the fight.

But I feel that the weapon effects could be better if you can't stack wounds because losing 4.5% of you hp per second would suck if a fighter has a rondel and can easily survive hitting you 3 times, retreat and poke from range to prevent you from stopping the heal. however having a wound system could open opportunity's for making certain armor better at resisting certain types of attacks. Ex. plate can reduce the bleed damage by 0.5% but at the cost of it being weak to magic as a base stat, even if you craft it out of a magic resistant material the base melee resistant will suffer so you can't get the best of everything.

( With all the ideas this video gives and how DaD is falling, someone could make a game from the exact Idea and would be very success full and I think its just a matter of time before ironmace make the game better or someone will steal the market for a game like this )

I also don't feel like adding random things that can make or break fights

(25% chance for deep wound for example) would be good for the game.

Dying to somebody just because they got lucky is not fun.

Ok. Overall, these ideas are really good, but they would work better as their own game.

Paplouff: Those are good idea, but how would they manage to balance a game that deep when they can't balance the actual states of the game. The only solution they "found" to balance game stats was to remove them. They are not dev and they proved that (ranger quiver ..). The only "new" update that we had was copy/pasta of unreal assets. We need to stop being delusional about them.

chost-059: the deepwound effect sounds incredibly toxic and unbalanced

scenario: rogue catches a fighter out of invis, hits them 3 times and runs out of melee range. fighter is now losing 4.5% hp a second and has no way to stop the bleed since the rogue will just kite them in near melee range and keep constant pressure not allowing a bandage to be used. from this point the rogue doesnt have to do anything aside from kiting them until they die to bleed, if you feel like use knives to increase DPS

scenario: fighter has a pavise secondary and a deepwound applying weapon, they catch a barb and get 3 hits on them, now they pull out pavise and perma block the barb while they tick constant dmg until dying

gabrielgrassia6763: While all of these are great ideas, I don't really think Ironmace's issue is a lack of good ideas. The issue isn't really WHAT is being done (I know, bear with me), but HOW. In a project of this scale, you can't rely on some random guy's random ideas to create a good game. Greatness is achieved by great processes. I'm 100% sure if Ironmace took all of your ideas today and fully committed to implementing them, they would fuck up and fail miserably. Because the issue is deeper than that. The way they organize work, people, and decisions is the issue. The issue isn't that SDF had a horrible idea. The issue is the very fact that a random idea from a single person can consume so many resources and get shipped with no testing or real evaluation of its consequences.

I'm sure every one of us could grab a blackboard and come up with at least a few ideas for the game that would be genuinely good and better than what we have now, but that's not the issue. Until SDF steps down from his ego throne, mans up, and decides to actually be a leader and build a real working company instead of this bullshit, all of our creativity and effort will go to waste.
