Patch 7.4 Will Change FFXIV Forever Xeno Reacts

Meilymo: Maybe someone could mod some hair on the egg in the bottom left xdd.

Ishimura1337: "My lord... is that legal?"

Yoshi-P: "I will make it legal"

meeesj634: keep shinin' up there

IzzyPR2010: "Are there people who don't use mods, yeah, console players, LOL you bastard.

N3k0G4m1: They now just need to rework the glamour dresser so that u can see every piece available in the game with a structured order system and a search function. So u can preview an outfit u wanna gain and read where/how u can obtain it to unlock it in the dresser.

sushioishii8950: If i had a dollar for everytime Xeno said "This is gonna be fucking awesome"... then a week after the patch ... "What the fuck is this man?"

CaptnMarvelous: Strategy board is IMO probably the biggest thing possible to get people to actually play the fucking game.

Yeah, ideally you need to watch a guide or understand things to that level but to have an on-hand guide right in front of you with the capability to flip pages mid-fight to see the next upcoming mechanic is massive. It'll probably hurt your DPS or something if you're taking time to click through the pages but to essentially hand newbies to the fight a booklet they can reference throughout the entire fight is the perfect tutorialization. Plus once you get good enough you won't need it meaning you can just focus entirely on your damage. And to top it all off you can toss your code around to the entire party so everyone can have it on hand for the future.

Unfortunately DT has proven that the playerbase just wants a $15/month visual novel so even handing them a step-by-step diagram on "How to clear Baby's First EX" won't help but fuck if they aren't trying.

feniu10: Omega based. Don't fight modders. Improve the game to make the mods obsolete. Modders want to make the game more fun.

ChimneyChungus: Keep shining up there

SugarPoochi: My views are cosmetic mods are ok, Once mods give you an advantage over someone who doesnt have mods, they arent ok. And I do find a lot of even basic QoL mods a bit unfair to those who dont have them. (Mostly console players).

This being as simple as perfect pixel showing a dot under your character for a hitbox, or the treasure map addon that instantly places the X for treasure maps. To very blatant unfair mods that people use for cheating in raids or auto macro'ing for crafting.

rodimus580: “OVERUSE OF MODS CAN RESULT IN LOSS OF HAIR, PLEASE LOOK FORWARD TO IT”-Yoshi P

FearDatD: I've been calling for unrestricted glamour since 4.0. To learn that it wasn't done until now not because of "spaghetti code", but because Yoshi's ego annoys me. You can tell DT's reception is him eating humble pie and that this probably would have never been done if the sub numbers weren't tanking.

Also, mare is directly responsible for this happening. It was so popular that GMs were caught using it.

simonlandry8747: Combat addons are bad if taken to far, dps meter, whatever. Cool down tracker, whatever. Wow style weak auras/boss mods, will turn out exactly like wow did where its mandatory on some fights and a CLEAR disadvantage on every other fight.

As long as the mods dont essentially tell u what to do in the middle of a fight it will be fine.

I played wow for 18 years now and I loved that FF designed encounters without the thought that it'd be solved by a mod, but yes I would enjoy being able to do cosmetic mods or a dps meter without fearing being banned.

Alcoatk: What about those cool mods that changes class animations? I liked some of the ones shown in your videos and want them.

Zasurein: I think it would be cool if the "Second Rebirth" he was hinting at was applying the Quantum mechanic to all content. Imagine in 8.0 where there isn't necessarily the typical structure of normal, extreme, savage and ultimate. But instead you could tune all this content difficulty with the same system by adjusting the numbers and mechanics. That would make it easier to have all the content in the game available for casual players, but also scale up for hardcore players to unlock specific rewards. All they need to do is work out reward structures so the middle ground is also worth doing, since the current Quantum encounter is only worth doing at 0 or 40.

MrNick62780: Ive been playing since ARR and I use ACT aside from that I don't mod or use any other addons.. Part of the reason I got away from wow was because of all the required addons. This is your interpretation of what was said but I am pretty sure they still care about them. Personally I don't care if people use mods more power to ya if you want huge booba or tatoos it doesn't affect me and I agree people should be allowed to express themselves, but its pretty much copium saying that they don't care and are putting there hands up and saying do whatever you want as long as it falls in these undefined parameters. Don't get me wrong I would love more customization options etc for my character. I do understand the need for more information while raiding since I clear the savage tier every patch and do most of the content.

Tailionis: Auto path destroys immersion. Absolutely f'in not. Will turn into mobile SLOP

MB-em9ek: Auto-move is the bad solution to a bad game design.

But yeah I suppose it's the solution when your questing system is "Speak with X. Speak with Wuk Lmao." and you don't want to change it.

ricky_pigeon: If they cared about having no mods and enforcing their terms they would ban bards openly using 3rd party macro program or plugin and multi-boxing, but most normal people don't care, the GMs wont do anything, because it's not hurting anyone.

I think it's easy to understand for any normal person, what's okay and what isn't. Like having my char cloned, put into positions and pictures sent back to me. Not everyone is normal, so what the dev's are saying is "please don't force our hand". Don't ruin it!

DerpyMcderp: He literally said that since like shadowbringers, he really doesn't mind about mods as long as you don't go share it publicly

arohk4415: "If you can't beat them, join them"

proxy2149: "Personally", well it's where Xeno is wrong. No matter what YoshiP said, it's his own personal opinion, not the company. It's not a free pass. He is saying he personally doesn't care, yes, but he is also implying that at any point the company can do whatever they want. Xeno is twisting words.

MsPysoul: Yoshi: We dont change anything

Baldy: THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME

Rabfour: That console players comment WAS EFFED UP!

NeocrimsonX: Wenz baldicante
