leighsikay: thank you for being one of the few content creators who found a way to hold the game to a high standard while also distancing yourself from it when you felt it was necessary lol. it's definitely heartbreaking when something you love loses its magic, but many people in the ffxiv community have been handling that in obsessive, unhealthy ways. i started playing other games in the meantime, but i'm sure i'll enjoy 7.4 and hope you do too!

I just got Midnight from selling housing items and I've been enjoying the game quite a lot, but for me FFXIV is my home and it makes me happy to see the person most responsible for introducing me to FFXIV making positive content again. (I am in no way saying the negative feedback was a bad thing, I'm right there with you for 80% of it)

pobbart13: Is this patch going to ''save ffxiv''? no. issues such a slow patch cycles, lack of rewards and repeatable content persist. Is it an exciting patch thats reignited a lot of peoples hype to play the game again? yes, nothing wrong with acknowledging that. Looks like the best patch of DT and its fine to look forward to it whilst also recognising the next expansion is the next potential pivot point.

ReyReyzzz: people are really blowing yoshi-p's words out of proportion lol he tends to overdramatize himself in interviews to generate hype, be ready for the game to feel exactly the same as when you left it.

RaddyC: I also took a break after 7.1 and i probably won’t rerun until closer to 8.0. I left because i detest the duration job design has taken since 5.0. I haven’t quit or anything but the game is just not fun anymore. I really hope they bring actual fun and excitement back to ffxiv’s combat soon. Yeah 7.x’s fights have been good but the job is your lens. I could watch the best movie ever made but if my glasses are super smudged and dirty then I won’t enjoy the movie

68spideywhiskey: I was absolutely addicted to MSQ, honestly really struggled not to binge it- then DT came along and completely burnt me out. I had to take so many breaks (not even the side content was enough to keep me interested) and finally threw my hands up and dropped the game for the last month or two, I still haven't finished MSQ. I've got my fingers crossed that 7.4 will be good but I'm definitely not getting my hopes up.

Orih9: My issue is that job adjustments continue this unhealthy habit of dumbing down aspects of certain jobs that in any way shape or form conflict with the 2 minute meta. Some new fight has a burst window up during a time where red mage might not be in melee range? Just make the entire melee combo ranged. Defeat the entire point of it being a melee combo in the first place thematically just so that no one has to worry about thinking for half a second.

Job design has for a long time been insufferably stale and boring, and refusing to do anything but wheel out “quality of life” changes by the fist full every single patch inspired 0 faith in me that Yoshi P has any intentions of making jobs actually fun, interesting, and rewarding to play in 8.0 or any future expansion. I’m tired of waiting literally years for a solution that will never come.

oldwolf9403: I was gone due to a severe head injury from heavensward to shadwobringers. it was.. quite a thing getting caught up for Shadowbringers and Endwalker.
