Shopping CartNezzeraj: Hey finally I can help with some translation stuff! The "high-eyed users" is a literal translation of 눈이 높다 which literally means "high eyes" but more naturally means "to have high standards", "to have good taste" or even "to be picky".
The strange part about "feeling hot" is more naturally "passion" or "fervor."
The confusing part about the ceiling of expenses is trying to say that people in Asia are more likely to spend time and money on merchandise for characters they like.
Ryukai-san: Personally, I think it's just a bad translation of how they are considering the next story line to be a 'new 10 year arc', rather than the whole 'calamity reset' thing.
AlujaBING: I'll believe it when I see it.
notmousse: This is like when the farm island was announced and everyone assumed we were getting Animal Crossing dropped into FFXIV.
Aiins: Looking forward to what their team cooks up for 8.0 and beyond, I'm not about to be all doom and gloomy when I've really enjoyed a lot of the new content like the relic and raids
djman256: Background music WAY too loud.
ZinoXIV: Oh god the loporrits are going to cause a calamity!
AeolusSvichi: It being "reborn" again similarly how it was reborn from 1.0 to 2.0 would be an excellent way to drop PS4 support and maybe swap to a new engine or update the current one, and have that written into the lore.
They can create some cataclysmic event that changes the shape of the land lore wise have it written how many people/souls were lost as a result (those being potential PS4 users who didn't update to PS5 or PC).
ClairvoyantLastrus: Oh boi, audio balance this video is rough. Idk if it's youtube or you but the background music is way to loud in this video
pokalatte8122: We need an engine that can handle blitzball
blackandwhiteduo4971: Hey man, The music gets really loud and I can barely hear you at certain points, If you could turn down the music a little bit please
yabiyabi: Fantasia in Japanese is called "Phantom medicine" (or phantom drug/pot) ^^
Lordwhizzkid: Yeah, I think I agree with you currently. It seems more like marketing instead of committing to a full engine restructure like ARR. If they wanted to do this, it has to have been a somewhat recent decision, or the choices to rework the lighting & character models would've been delayed since at the very least lightning would have to be rehashed again in a new engine, and each model would need to be re-evaluated yet again. I could definitely see it as another jumping off point though, break the world and give a really strong push in one direction for the story for a 3 part arc that spans over the next 8 years of content. Plus it also fits the little we know of "The Winterers", as beings who might be trying to escape from something.
In general though I think it may simply be even more marketing hype than that. We are talking translation of translations here, so I'm expecting meaning to have been lost a little, and I would not be surprised if it was more to describe the FEELING of ARR, rather than actually resetting the world. The idea that we have to give the game a fresh start which people can access from, because right now playing the entire story with all cutscenes can take about 450-500 hours, even skipping and knowing what you're doing it's about 125 hours. This does worry me a little more, because that's what Dawntrail was supposed to be, however they didn't commit enough in any direction which ended up in the story being mostly middle of the road, they just played too safe. Trying to do that again after it just failed is a little worrying, and I'm a tiny bit worried that they're learning the wrong lessons still. But we'll just have to see what they give us.
akridx5712: Next Expansion: Final Fantasy A Realm Reborn 2: Electric Boogaloo
ruka9700: Respectfully I'll believe it when I see it.
Dracounguis: In my perfect world, with the end of the 10-year story of 14 a new and improved game engine would have been launched with Dawntrail. I know that would be asking a lot but I think this game engine has reached its limit and players are just going to be more and more disappointed as time goes on. Especially with some damn mobile game looking so fantastic and giving options people can only dream about in the real game.
End-Logic_1: As a long time casual I am stuck in a weird place with this game. I logged in, maxed out tomes, did alliance raids, got the items needed for upgrades. Then log out. The repetitiveness has become stale and I only force myself to play because of all the time I have put into the game but not because the game is actually enjoyable to play beyond a few hours or a couple days leading up to capping currency. The machine that is FFXIV is fine but has become stale in my opinion. For context I am an older gamer (43) who played MMORPGs during a time when those games required you to sign your life away and would issue disclaimers to "remember your real life" (paraphrasing). It may be unrealistic in 2025 but I miss those days of gaming.
lonewulf0328: I take that comment to mean "There is also fan fest planned, and we are preparing a big announcement (for fanfest) where we will reveal the rebirth of the game into a new primary story arc now that the interlude (dawntrail, the "summer vacation") between the first 10 year arc and the upcoming next 10 year arc is completed. It would make sense if that was the train of thought because if we really think of DawnTrail as the interlude period, which is was pretty much advertised as from its initial announcement, then that would mean that now with 7.4x and 7.5x leading into 8.0, will be us moving into the next primary story arc of the series.
Naoto-kun1085: I don't think either that an engine rework woukd be hinted at in some random interview, it definitely seems like he's talking about their new attitude towards designing the game
KazumiKiguma: I'm betting 10 bucks that the whole "Reborn" statement is about the story going into a new arc separated from what 1.0 and 2.0 did rather than the actual game being changed in any way. That said, they did say they wanted to focus on Job Identity for 8.0, so they could be doing a massive rework on how the jobs play, maybe even finally getting rid of the class system. Considering how the classes/jobs played in 1.0, I could see a revamp of the classes/jobs fitting the "Reborn" phrasing.
KazumiKiguma: Today I've learned the term "on parity" exists, which apparently nobody ever uses because they've shortened it to "on par" for ages now....
redcatte5253: Do remember this is YoshiPR talking, so don't confuse the bread crumps he gave us with a banquet, but half a sliced piece of bread.
Afrien_art: I think it just mean that the sync of all servers to the current patch, will open new ideas and changes. No need to overthink it. Yoshi P is excited about the future and its nice.
