Shopping CartEizenVanKatsu: They did kind of do the Gravity thing again with Queen Eternal. This expansion has been very full of Returning mechanics that didn’t quite hit
zanon3362: Also needs mentioning for savage exdeath: this is the best phase transition presentation, period. Seeing that tear from the void was absolutely badass.
KPSoftwind: First and arguably my all-time favorite raid tier!!! Still loved the first reveal of a door boss.
necrochan7620: I remember my raid static being stuck at Halicarnassus (O3S) for 2 weeks
CaliforniaRaisens: I been playing FF14 since Shadowbringers and have yet to unlock this raid tier lol!
tcoren1: O9S is imo the perfect introductory savage fight
Hard enough but still very approachable
And very fun to boot
They came a long way between O1S and O9S
zirilan3398: ah yes, the sideswipe for Legendtitles, that where earned fair and square. First of all there is not a single raid static who fully cleared without any tools even if it's "just" ACT somewhere in their group unless it's a full console-static.
After a clear no one asked "but did you earned it"? And why? Cause it doesn't matter.
If anyone wants to critique me on this remember the Rich Campbell bs.
Sasupoika2: Deltascape was my first foray into FFXIV's savage raiding (outside of few pug attempts during Midas). Quite divided raid tier, with two first bosses being poo, but last two being basically some of the very best. Halicarnassus was amazing to prog and run (I was playing as shield AST for reference), and Exdeath's doorboss was great - very fast paced. Neo was fun too, although less so after progging it enough. Almagest was actually quite scary, and caused few times out white mage to pull following tank buster, heh. Also, best phase transition.
brynnub: "reactive chaos" from Halicarnassus is in a lot of casual content in Dawntrail now, like Strayborough Deadwalk, and it's been nice to see them raise the skill floor just a little bit for "easier" content, to better prep players for making that jump to harder content :D
ryanrushford7918: I think an interesting mechanic would be something like a melee/ranged buster? Whoever is higher in damage both melee and ranged, could get a big hit that needs mitigation so they survive. At least it would be another thing for healers to keep on top of. More esuna usage too!
NeroLucifarious: Omega raid let's gooooo
whonew2223: the healers in my group, back in the day, hated the white hole mech in Exdeath, casue most of us had vitality melds in acc, and every week we got more gear our hp was higher and we would miss the few hp points and die. Good memories.
Kaggii: It's really crazy looking at that footage now days where it's 'every button should be pressed on cd' and seeing tornado kick never used because it ate all your greased lightning stacks lmao
tciddados: Kind of funny to hear you talk about how "debuffs you have to track the whole fight aren't really a thing that's done anymore" with Neo's color debuff, and then not even give a nod to the most recent hard fight in the game (Q40) that does that even more than Neo Exdeath, since in Neo at least you only have to check on specific mechanics, but in Q40 it's its own mechanic that you have to manually manage the whole time too (along with having specific checks on certain mechs).
Incensement: I couldn't agree more on Exdeath being the best door boss. I have started to loathe the more recent door bosses that just feel like a chore to get through, especially on reclear.
I'll take a tight and hectic 4 minute encounter before I get to the "actual" boss over the 8 minute slog that rewards you with nothing but wasted time when the instance inevitably times out on prog.
Not to mention the few fights where the door boss ended up being the harder of the two.
Firestar1992: Ugh, you are right about them overusing their new toys each expansion. While it's more overworld gameplay rather than mechanics, I despised the tailing missions in Endwalker and Dawntrail, especially the more they did them. By the time they had us sneaking after Urianger, I was like "okay, what is the point of this?" Especially since at the end of the mission we just casually walked up to him anyway! Aaaaaaaa!
yumyuum6390: Where were the eels?
RaxiazRedux: I hate door bosses. They kind of ruined the game for me, among many other design decisions.
88Rosie: I thought Alte Roite was great. I felt it was a great introduction to savage. That was my first savage fight and it hooked me for more.
