I think pple should moderate worries and expectations here cuz he may simply be referring to what he said before: DT and beyond will ne a whole new arc and it is, in essence, an MSQ restart. Dunno if the game is gonna actually change so radically beyond what he teased in the PLL: housing changes > glam changes > open world changes. But who knows... maybe they are cooking other awesome things. My interest is piqued either way.

Eh_Wick: Yoshi is correct to no box yourself into a single mindset, but you also face the danger of trying to please everyone and do everything in one. That dilutes the message/goal. This approach is a double edged sword. You need to know when adopting other ideas are good and when they don't apply to your work.

MMOPC78: One "path" FFXIV could do for 8.0 is a time jump. What I mean by this is having 8.0 start "new" and have the familiar NPCs (ie. The Scions) be older by 5 to 10 years with 8.0 being a new era for these "adult" or older NPCs. The cavet is that 8.0 give the player to also go back and play ARR to DT as a "filler gap" when there is a lull in 8.0 content.

They're looking at what mobile players like as a part of trying to attract them to play the gaame. That still isn't something I'm thrilled about, but it's not at all the same vibe.

OverlordOut: Whats next? Fix the Free Company system, fix the grand company ranks, remove 100s of pointless items in game. Improve the rewards/ items sold for grand company seals. Fix the FC buffs so much shit ya can do to fix all the garbage ya left us with. Improve spear fishing another thing ya gave up on. A tiny list of things to rant on but fixing so many so many little things improve the new player experience.

im18yearsolder: I really hope they just keep the current style but with more content and frequent updates. The time between patches has gotten longer and longer, and they could really cut it down. That would be more effective.

I honestly can’t see A Realm Reborn style change happening again though, the player base would revolt.

wizonetd0822: I bring some good news for housing lovers! this what was not being asked in the interview but was said by yoshiP himself during the Korean live stream. he was visiting ingame houses and he said there are going be some updates to housing and mentioned how moving parts ( furniture ) are done by using " difficult techniques " ( I think he means basically by using glitches, mods) and he said they would like to officially support it. also he said the housing customization UI will be updated!

that being said its yoshiP so we will have to wait and see if the new housing updates are going implemented well.

Though, I would also like a direct Poetics to gil exchange, since I currently have to do four exchanges for that (Poetics>PLD gear>GCS>Duck Bones>gil).

Foogi9000: DT was really bad for ffxiv. Imagine if during the og Star Wars trilogy they randomly had a movie where Luke takes a background role and then introduced and gave a new completely random character the mc role while making it a slog narratively. Every decision that led Dawntrail being as bad as it was should be studied. In my honest opinion it's going forever be the expansion that filters out players next to ARR itself. The excuse of "it gets better at such and such point" no longer works because it doesn't, it gets worse. The story was and is a massive selling point and now you have a really really badly written and paced expansion worse than ARR and SB that hits players after the big narrative high that was EW. Even if the next expansion completely revives the game and is amazing it still won't stop the whiplash for players going through the story for the first time
