Blazieth: Honestly, regarding the Cid's Goggles thing, I think it really is just a case of "This is how the echo worked in 1.0" and that scene is just sort of the last remaining glimpse of it that made it into the writing before they settled on the Echo just being observation, not interaction. So it's not whether or not you're a Legacy Character, it's simply the writing team changing how the Warrior of Light's Echo works, and not properly cutting all instances of the old echo from the new script.

During the events of Stormblood, he learns that he's a Garlean experiment that was disposed of due to being deemed a failure, and after liberating Doma, he stays behind to train with Yugiri as a Ninja so he can raid Garlean bases for more info regarding his past. He'd definitely want to catch up and show his progress after all this time and everything that's happened. Possibly demonstrate some Viper techniques for her to learn too
