they are not even necessary for the quest BUT they unlock deep root depths and behind another of that knight you fought there is a chest with her drip which is a THOUSAND times better looking than you current

also GO TO THE CAPITAL its in altus you have to go but a boss is guarding it

pleas dont use the massive sword its the most used boring sword in the entire game

those were baby dragons they drop no runes adult ones are like four or five times your size

Go back to the Mimic boss fight and huge the Left side until you find a Grass and you need 2 Stone keys.

You just have to get to the end of the City for the quest to continue.

Very easy to miss if you’re don’t explore the full area.

CromulentDenizen: Great video as always! Some advice: there are four physical damage types: standard, slash, pierce and strike. You ended up playing on hard mode against the gargoyles by using a slash weapon (bloodhound fang), which most stone creatures are have extra defense against.

Some broad things to look out for:

Fleshy enemies tend to be weak to slash damage.

Stone or wooden enemies tend to be weak to strike damage.

Armored enemies tend to be weak to pierce damage.

Standard damage (from axes and most strait/great swords) is fairly neutral. Not much is weak to it, but also not much is strong against it.

Im sure someone has mentioned it but at the gargoyle duos boss room there is a coffin that can transport you to a secret area.

That area has its own quests and bosses as well as another coffin that leads you to another secret area to complete rannis quest.

In order to progress rannis quest though you have to get the finger slaying blade back in the ancestral woods

Yalro6: I didnt struggle my 1st playthrough either. I had a hell of a lot of fun tho. The DLC will humble you. Its a different beast. There's a dungeon in the far north corner, where the cliff meets the water in Radahn's arena, that you missed. If you go the other way in Radahn's tower, there's a dungeon.
