the mechanics of the skill interaction with the ultimate on undertaker is kinda confusing, if you HOLD Triangle L2 when your ultimate gauge is full, you will charge your regular skill for a bit and then you get 10s of invincibility via auto-dodging, at the cost of spending your ultimate to super-charge your character skill. regular skill by itself does not have invincibility

alternatively for immediate action of the charged character skill you can HOLD Triangle L2 and to immediately active instead of waiting for charge, tap R2 alongside Triangle L2. hope that clears that up and helps you enjoy the character more!
